Rasell's Nurseries Christmas Trees

We have three fields of Christmas trees grown and cared for by the team at Rasell’s Nurseries which can be viewed by your family from November every year. We have lots of traditions in our community of families coming together to choose the tree and meeting at The Tea House to discuss the merits of their best choices over a drink and something ‘indulgent’. We even have families walking the tree home or having it delivered on a particular date every year. Lastly we love receiving pictures of your trees decorated in all their festive glory.

Picea abies (Norway spruce) £5 a foot:

This is always regarded as the Traditional Christmas tree which has a great fresh scent, stiff dark green needles and grows in a conical shape. Out trees are always cut fresh, so please make sure they are kept in water in a cooler part of the room so they will retain their needles and keep looking magnificent.

Abies nordmanniana (Nordmann fir) £7.50 a foot:

A very popular Christmas tree due to its needles being retained for longer and is equally as beautiful as the Norway Spruce. It has dark green broad needles that are soft to the touch and have a shine to them but with little scent. Again it grows in a great symmetrical conical shape.

Christmas Tree care:

We advise that once home, to get the best out of your tree, you saw 2.5cm (1inch) off the bottom with a pruning saw and place in a stand with a well of water in the base. Check the level of water daily and top up the water when the level drops as in the first few days the tree can drink 0.5-1 litre a day.
